- Speak with others about their experience studying abroad; learn what can make your study abroad successful.
- Peruse some great blogs or articles on the subject.
- Talk to your friends. Make them aware of your decision. Work with a friend in choosing a study abroad program.
- Get your family involved in the search. Perhaps they know of someone who has studied abroad that can help you with some dos and don’ts.
- Make a list of your five favorite programs, and limit your list to your favorite based on location, price, benefits and other choices of most interest to you.
- Commit to your choice. Don’t let fear keep you from following through with your dreams at the last moment. Being nervous is to be expected. In the same vein, be open to new opportunities if they present themselves. There may be another journey you are intended to make.
